There is a MAS 36 at the local fun shop. Not known on price. Been converted to .308 Winchester.

I believe that they were Century Arms International conversions. I also think they went for $125-$135.

This rifle is in the same condition as the one in the photo.

As I have no clue on price I can't say yes or no yet.

But I can ask is it even worth getting? I have an Israeli Mauser in 7.62x51mm NATO and that is a fun gun.

I like collecting WWII guns and a MAS is missing from my collection.

Are there any issue with the MAS 36s in .308?

Probably will work better than the 49/56 conversion !

Century did the same basic deal, shorten barrel & rechamber and shorten handguard/stock forend. I'd pay $125-135,  7.5 wrapped ones are $200-250 these days. About the only issue i've heard of is they didn't re-install the forend catch when they shortened the stock so the forend can be sloppy but you can buy one and inlet it yourself.

I also heard that sometimes the rechambering job was done with dull tooling so the chambers were rough and sometimes extraction was iffy.
