I was considering buying a Mossberg bolt action 30-06.  They are $300.00 with a 3x9 scope at Academy.  I was wanting one just for use as field gun that I dont have to worry about and at that price you cant beat it.  Anyone own one or shot one?  Any input would be appreciated.

They are ok for the money.

Dont expect great accuracy, a long lasting finish, or a good stock to hold up forever.

I don't know about the new ones, but their oldschool antique 1940's and 1950's vintage guns are INCREDIBLE rifles - especially for the $$!
