The Garand is the definitive battle rifle. I love the balance and handling. I find it quicker to reload then the M14. I would not want to shoot it all day long, but I would feel fine with it in a fight. If you have the slightest interest in one, get one now, before the prices raise. I picked mine up at a gun shop for 630. I've seen ones in much worse condition for 1200 at guns shows. Its a SA made in 44. Rebuilt of course, when I got it it looked like its only have a clip or 2 fired though it since then. |

Currently on a quest for a Daewoo K2/AR100. Debating on using one of my FALs as trading material. Also wouldn't mind to have an original Armalite AR180 someday. Another is the SIG 556. I like the idea of using AR-15/M-16 mags, but wish the rifle was as close to the 551 as possible in all other areas then I'd get real excited!!!! In reality though, there are just too many to list

A while back I would spend time during a lecture college course compiling a list in my notebook of all the firearms I would like to own and could reasonably procure in the next decade (i.e. no AT-4s, much as I would like one). I think I made it all the way up to 103 weapons, including 11 different AR variants, six different 1911s, etc. It's pretty comprehensive and I am slowly working my way through it now. |
