| Why are the Robinson Arms XCR'S so exspensive? I added what was needed to be a complete rifle.I added a fixed stock, Front and rear sight, a 16" barell some muzzle device and it come out to 1929.00 in 7.62x39mm?????? Are they worht the price? I really like the 7,62 round and was looking for a different gun rather than a ak 47 and thought i look toward the xcr. Boy was i shocked when i saw the msrp on it. |

They are actually a pretty good deal compared to what it would take to get another rifle with the same features. How much would an AR cost that had a monolithic rail, railed FF handguard, quick change barrel, piston gas system, and folding front and rear sights? At least $2K I think. Even then, the AR can't have a folding and collapsing stock like the XCR. If you picked some other platform like the AK or SIG you can get the stock, but no monolithic rail or quick change barrels. And the SIG at least is still going to cost $2K+. Plus, Robinson has to pay 10% tithing. If you don't need some of those nifty XCR features, get something else. |

You can get them for much less through a dealer as compared to through the Robarms Website. Roy at Aussie Arms is great Contact us at: [email protected] or by telephone at: 301 268 7466 for more information. I've heard great things about Kermit Zahn as well: Kermit Zahm Wild Thang Farms 3150 Fuller Rd Emmett , Idaho 83617 [email protected] phone 208-869-1616 Fax # 208-365-4272 |
| +1 on Kermit. Got my XCR from him about a year ago. Good price and good service. Take some of the money you save buying from Kermit to pay Bill Springfield $50 to do a trigger job on your rife after you get it. Best $50 I ever spent, since the one criticism I have of the stock XCR is that the trigger leaves something to be desired. |
| They are not nearly that expensive in terms of real world prices. The MSRP on the RA website is drastically above what they go for on Gunbroker. When you compare them to the price of the most similarly configured AR15, which still doesn't give you a folding stock, they are actually less expensive. |
1) because unlike an AR15, they aren't a 50 year old gun with all the tooling amortized and paid for. You can't build XCR's from bins of surplus .mil parts because those parts aren't out there. 2)Because you are getting more for your money than with the other designs that are out there for sale. 3) BECAUSE THEY ARE WORTH IT. I like AR's, but they have not met my reliability expectations. When I got my XCR, I purposely tried to get it to malfunction by not cleaning or lubing it and well, the gun won. I'm tickled pink with my XCR, it has delivered on the promise of a modern, healthy reliable, accurate fighting rifle. Every time I pick it up I am more and more convinced that I made a good choice in buying it at a time when I really didn't need another .223 rifle. I hope to buy one in .308 when they come out too. |
Those look pretty nice
