what is your overall opinion, experiance etc. with the berretta Cx4 storm carbine? i am considering purchasing one |
| I loved the .45 until I found out high cap mags where basically non existent. I sold it for $100 less then what I got it for, but it was a cool gun, fun range toy. Never shot groups on paper but I was able to hit a 1 foot square board offhand at 100 yards with irons. |
Do you know if it would it be possible to mod the .45 caliber model to take XD45 mags? |
If I could make my 45 XD mags work I would seriously consider getting one. |
|
I don't know if they would work, I have had others ask. First thing we need to find out is if the XD mags will physically fit inside the magwell of a .45 Storm carbine..then go from there. For the 9mm, they fit perfect except wouldn't sit high enough. I removed some material from the bottom of the Storm magwell/grip sleeve (just the insert was changed, a $15 part) until the mag sat high enough to feed, then just made a mag catch slot in the mag in the correct position......done deal. Feeds perfect and locks the bolt open when empty. The 92 mags still work also.....there is just a little (un seen) gap between the bottom of the grip insert and the top of the mag floor plate. The XD mags in the pic have the Arrendondo (sp?) +5 floorplates installed for a total of 21 rounds each. I would like to know myself, because I would buy the .45 and do the same. I am actually going to sell this one, just because I need the money for other guns right now....still a very cool little gun. |
| I have the 9mm PX4 magazine version. I love it. I have about 750 rounds through it so far and no failures. However, I found a problem with the plastic buffer when I cleaned it last time. The buffer is cracked at the top and needs to be replaced or the recoil spring will not be held in place. It is only a $6 part but Beretta does not have it in stock until July. I'm a little pissed since the part is not readily available and now I have an unusable rifle in my safe. I do not regret my purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat especially since 9mm is cheaper than 5.56. |
Yep, how many polymer parts it has is one of the reasons I sold my first one. I had a bunch of spare parts I let go too. One thing about the polymer buffer though is it's polymer. It's just fiber reinforced epoxy resin molded and if the crack isn't really bad and pieces are missing than you should be able to epoxy it back up again to get the guide rod and spring to stay in place. I'd ram a high temp plastic epoxy into the crack, clean up the extra and than put pressure on the buffer sides with something like a vise till it fully cures. |
Yes, and 17 round mags. |
What? ![]() I'm curious how you come to that since they make them compatible with 9mm 92/M9's, .40S&W 96's, 9mm and .40S&W PX4's, and 9mm, .40S&W, and .45ACP Cougars. That's a hell of alot of great magazine choices, but yes they are for Beretta pistol's if that what you mean. It is a Beretta carbine of course. If your looking for something to take magazine's for that plastic brick called Glock, than Microtech has something for you. ![]() Microtech plastic brick carbine |
