A friend of mine asked me to sell his semi auto 1927A1 Thompson. My youngest son is thinking about buying it and having the barrel cut down and registering it as an SBR on my LLC. Can someone recommend someone who has done a cut down on an 1927A1 brfore and reinstalled the Cutts Compensator on the barrel.

I would also like to see pictures of their work if any pictures are available.

Thank You,

Dane

hello. why dont you just buy them already done from the factory? i got to play with one at a gunshow. i really didnt see the need to pay 200.00 for loosing a few inches on a thompson. it looked okay, but it doesnt have any versatility to it like a shortened ar-15. why dont you look at the newer thompsons where the stock comes off turning it into a long barreled pistol? those look like a lot of fun and cool.  kirk

JBARMS has one for sale ............ he's in PA (Upper Darby) ............

Also, if you go the route of buying your friends, test fire it first. More than a few of the semi-WH guns are not too reliable and ammo sensative - I had one and the novelty wore off real quick.

If the gun checks out, consider just replacing the barrel with a factory MG barrel - they would have to take it off any way to shorten it and just replacing the barrel would probably be cheaper, even when throwing in the cost of the barrel.

Also, check here ............. you have to set up an account ..............
