Hey all- don't know if this is the right forum or not, but I was interested in getting a 4 (or even 5 or 6) number trigger lock for my new guns.  Anybody have any suggestions/know where I can get them?  I've only been able to find 3-number, which, quite frankly, seem too easy to figure out.

Thanks!

I really love internet forums.  There is always someone willing to chime in with the answer you didn't ask for.  Was my question, "will gun locks prevent theft?"  No.

Thanks for the advice, but honestly, please read the question next time.  I hate to come off so cynically, but this is seriously a pet peeve of mine- don't reply to prove a point I wasn't asking about.  Maybe I already have a safe?  Maybe I need it to be more than three numbers for other reasons?  Why in hell would you think *I* thought a gun lock would prevent a theft?  How does that make any sense?  I asked about A, please answer about A.

I appreciate the effort to inform, but come on.  This is a very specific question, which should only have one of two answers: A) I've never heard of anyone making them, or B) here's a link/data about ones that exist.  Period.

Again, all informative posts are greatly appreciated.  Just please make them so!!

Well, since I'm no help around here, I’ll just be sure to steer clear of any of your future posts.

Good day.

Um, how does a gun lock in any way have anything at all to do with maintenance or cleaning?

Now, would you be willing to state why you'd like a 4 or more button combo lock?  Or are you completely set in your belief that it's the best for whatever you want it for?  Perhaps if you were to list your wants/needs someone might have a better solution for you.

Is this what you need?

Trigger locks alone, regardless of combination size, will not prevent theft. I hope you have a decent safe.

Gun locks have been well known for being easy to break apart. I have seen videos of kids breaking every major gun lock available. They are not really good for much.

You can take this advice or leave it. Here is a combo lock that i found using the grand power of GOOGLE. you should try it some time.

BTW, when you ask questions about certain subjects, you should expect to at least get objective answers. You will usually here advise or someones opinions.

@djslice: Yeah, I know they're not perfect.  Thanks for the pic though.

@QUIB: Alright, I did respond a bit roughly, but honestly, I basically asked "where can I find green apples in the Washington area" and you give me "they actually won't keep the doctor away."  So yeah, I'm not going to miss your helpful replies, buddy.

@Unicorn: Awesome.  I may pick these up.  As to posting in here: yep, not the right place, I admit- "don't know if this is the right forum or not".  Let me know where should it go.  And regardless of whether or not I pick up the ones you suggested, I appreciate you giving me useful info apropos to my question!

+1

Unicorn, this was where I was headed with my question, hoping to get a more definitive (and civil) response to his intent with the trigger locks. But, oh well.............
