I had a good day at the range today. I have been in the brake in period with the gas setting on 4 for my first few hundred rounds. Wolf ammo is the only thing I have been shooting. Well half way through the day I decided to turn down the gas setting. I went to 3 and things ran fine for 2 mags so I decided to go down to 2. At 2 she ran flawlesly for another 2 mags so I thought I'd try 1. Set it to 1 and the first round faild to eject, the second round tried to double feed so I went back to seting 2. Left it there for another 3 mags (ran out of ammo). Not a single problem. I will continue to use this setting until i feel it is unreliable also. There is a tremendous diff. now that the setting is lower. very smooth, and very little recoil. This rifle is like a good wine it just keeps gettng better with time. the more I use the features on this rifle the more natural everything feels. I now find myself releasing the bolt, disengaging the safty, messing with the charging rail without looking to see what I'm doing.. I Like This Rifle.

BTW the last lap of the Daytona 500 was awsome

I'm going to turn down the gas setting tomorrow.  Can't wait to see what it's like.  The trigger has gotten slightly better now.  Did you notice the same?

I bent the hammer spring legs a little to decrease the tension on the trigger so it feelt better anyway after I did that. The rifle seems to be able to eat even the worst stuff you shove into it. It is definetly passing my expectations.

Just curious, what grain bullet are you shooting with the Wolf?

Here's what I've found works for gas settings in my XCR:
4 - commercial 55gr .223 and .223 reloads (HSM)
3 - 55gr mil spec ammo
2 - 62gr+ mil spec ammo
1 - haven't used but is supposed to be used with a suppressor (I don't own a suppressor)

I am shooting wolf 55gr I think. It's in a black rectangular box with the plastic insert. the caseings are gray and does not apave appear to have a heavy Kote of laqure on them. I dont have any boxes for reference, but I think this is correct.

Excellent, I will have to try lower settings on mine. As far as the Daytonna 500, that ending was crazy, but I really wanted Mark Martin to win as it was likely his last shot.
