They are excellent.  My brother in law has one.  Spare parts are not readily available however.

Nice rifles, usually very reliable, parts availability is somewhat problematic but there are several companies out there offering nice upgrades from the standard butthole stocks. Takes standard AR mags & IIRC, some AR trigger parts too. Biggest drawback at least to me is the silly safety that requires a large change of grip to go from safe to fire.

Check out www.stormwerks.com, ACE & www.azexarms.com

FAL Files has a nice picture thread at http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136870

Derek at Azex did a very nice SBR DR 200 here http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=174811

A member at FAL Files has a complete description with pics on stripping & assembly, I'll see if I can dig that up as well.

Sorry for not making the links live, my internet fu is weak...

I have 4x DR200 rifles & 1x DR300 in 7.62x39. Very nice guns. Look to pay between $650 & $850 for a good example.

I ordered one in the 90's with the factory scope rail before their import was banned by Komrade Klinton.

I really liked it but a couple years ago I traded it off

Wish I had kept it.

The reason I ask is because I got a bunch of car parts im trading and one guy is offering a bushmaster i believe A3 style rifle and a daewoo dr-200 for the parts. Other guy is offering a savage rifle in .300 RUM topped with burris 4x15x50mm plus over 200 rounds of ammo(which is over $40 p/20) and a winchester model 70 7mm mag topped with weaver 3x9.... 300 RUM has 80 rounds through it and 7mm mag has 40 and both guns are in excellent shape. So what say you? I already have 1 Colt Ar-15 but have no good deer rifle.

A few of the internal parts are AR-15 parts... I think trigger, hammer, and safety.

Why don't you take the Bushy & the DR200 then sell/trade the Bushy into a nice 2nd hand deer rifle in a common calibre like .270 or .308? The other two guns are nice enough but as you point out, the ammo is mega bucks & there's no fun in shooting hard kicking magnums to become proficient enough to hunt deer with AMHIK.....

Should you wish to sell the trades later down the line, you'll have more of a market for a DR 200 & a good deer rifle in an easy available cal. than you will 2 hard kicking, expensive to shoot bolt guns. Just my 2 cents.

Now the guy is offering 2 bushmasters instead of the one bushmaster and Daewoo. Im torn between then need of some good hard hitting magnum rifles and the want for more EBR

Beside the issue of spare parts they are a nice semi auto rifle .
I've had one for over ten years and I bought it used . I have no
worries that it will break anytime soon .

Every time the DR-200 is mentioned, my hatred for George H. W. Bush (1989-1993) resurges.

Yes he signed a misguided ban but the Dr200 was banned by Komrade Klinton in one of his end run Exec Orders.
