You would be an idiot not to buy it.  I saw a .223 folding stock Valmet in the local gun store back in 94' for $570 or so and wished I could have piked it up. Unfortunately I was only 13 and my father didn't look kindly on EBRs.

Buy it, you will regret not buying it..

PS.. Do not put it for sale in the EE for $2000 as soon as you get home.

Please buy it!!!

I passed up a Valmet .308 in college for  $990.  Of course it could have been $3,000 because I was a broke college kid.

Cool find

If it has the plastic stock, be advised that the stock is a POS and WILL break.

Mags for the .308 M76 are crazy expensive - $200+ for 20rd mags.

I seriously doubt you could resell it for $2K with a fixed stock. $1500 maybe, probably less. If it had a tube folder, I could see it selling for $2K.

If you really want a Valmet, I suggest getting a .223 M76 folder, or a 7.62x39 M62 if you can find one.

I have both the folder 223 76 with a stamped steel receiver, and the 308 76 with a forged (I think, it's not stamped) receiver and plastic butt stock. They are without a doubt the best of the ak type weapons. Superb build quality, solid as a rock. I paid probably $1600/$1700 each for them back in like 1989/1990. This was during the buying craze after the 89 import ban.
