Please don't flame this thread with "Buy her a gun". This is not an option. I need to know what is the best pepper spray available that can fit easily in a womans purse. I'm looking for the most powerfull stuff, that's safe to carry and easy to use. Thanks |

Did you mention to her that if she plans to use Pepper Spray as her primary defense she should at least once be exposed to the spray she plans to use in the event that she is inadvertantly exposed to the same chemical agent? Yes I am sure that she expects that she will dissable her attacker with the convenient pepper spray. She's probably to fucking stupid to understand that the wind may blow it back into her face or if she uses the miracle Pepper Spray in an enclose area she will be exposed to the same crippling affects of the gas. No gun huh.... Not an option? Fuck her an forget her. Why not that's exactly what a criminal will do to her if she is attacked and un-prepared to use deadly force in her own defense. Do you have children? Do you plan to have children? Do you plan to provide for your childrens safety with pepper spray? How about a Taser? What you and your signfigant other need to know is there are some evil motherfuckers out there who will murder you and rape your children at the drop of a hat. Any fucking hat. Pepper Spray or not if you do manage to reach a phone and dial 911 the response time is about 20 minutes. Just in time to gather evidence. Maybe they will catch the perps maybe they won't. OK, I didn't FLAME the thread. I didn't say "Buy her a gun." Are you happy now? Would you rather be rapped or kill someone who trying to rape you? If she says anything other than kill the rapist,..... It's your "her" man. |

Thanks for reading the original post and giving a direct and succinct answer. You're a real asshole, and judging by the way you answered my post, your wife must think so too (even if she carries a gun). I'm sure there are other things you've disagreed on and the way you handled this simple question that was asked, shows your manner of communication. My blessings to your wife for her monumental tolerance. Secondly, this is not for my 'significant other'. This is for a friend of mine's 80 something year old grandmother. We had already discussed the gun option and it was quickly stricken down - end of story. Whether or not pepper spray is the ideal tool for her is not my business, nor is it the question that I asked. I merely posted a simple question "what is the best pepper spray available" to which you were UNABLE to answer. |

For another option other than Fox labs (tried their keychain stuff and it really isnt that hot) try V4 control. The stuff is labled 5.5% but anyone knows anything about pepper spray it isnt the % of pepper or necassarily the Scotsville Heat Units (shu) either but a combination of all of that, the delivery method, and how effective the propellant is at delivering the pepper. Good spray not only inflames the tissue on the face, eyes, and throat but it also dialates the capilaries in the eyses causing tempary blindness. This will prevent a person that is drunk or high from seeing. Obviusly the guy above has never sprayed anyone or been spraid with it. The point is not to kill the attacker but stop him. If she doesnt feel comfortable with a gun or a knife then give her what she wants and let her understand the risks. All of these factors are improtant to understand if you carry a firearm and pepper spray. 1) people expect you use the spray first 2) if you get sprayed the situation might dictate that it has now become a deadly force encounter (if you cant see you could be shot by your own firearm or beet to death easily.) All important factors to consider when choosing the new hotter sprays. If you do or not have a firearm remember you can be charged if you use it improperly (IE you spray a bum that is talking smack and not advancing on you.) For the hottest out there go with Vexor(expensive but effective) Pepperball brand spray, or V4 control. |
