I know this is an AR-15 website, but I put this in the armory and the AR-15 also isn't an option. Here are the following centerfire rifles that I currently have; WASR 10 -Wire Side-Folding Stock -Romainian Forward Grip (This is the 30 round version) Browning A-Bolt Medallion -Simmons Aetec Scope -7mm-08 Busmaster M4 -Phantom 5C1 -Bayonet Lug -Sammco M33 Handguards -Tango Down Vertical Grip -Aimpoint Comp ML2 -Larue M68 Mount -GG&G BUIS w/Locking Detent -Houge Rubber Grip -6 Postion Un-Marked Tele Stock I am not really looking for another bolt gun, as I already have one. I need to know what I should get next. I ususually shoot at 25 yards, but if the whether is nice I have access to an outdoor range that is between 50-400 yards. I do not want the same type of gun I already have. I only have $1139 to spend on this one. Any suggestions at all would be great! Thanks! ETA: As usual, please give a few reasons why you think "x" is a good choice. Please don't just say "x" and leave it at that. I really would like to hear what your opinion of the weapon is and what you like and don't like about it. |

Spend your money on CCW and a pistol if you haven't already. My goal for the next couple of years are: 2 AR-15 16" Carbines flat tops -Aimpoint -Fixed "chopped carry handle" BUIS -Rail system and covers -Light -Perhaps Dizzy style long sight base An additional USP45 (for total of 2) That would give me back ups of my primary SHTF/In case of self defense/Carry guns. If you ever have to use them, they will be siezed as evidence. When I'm older and have a real career going I'll start buying guns for collecting purposes. I want a US 20th Century Weapon collection. Springfield, 1911, BAR, Tompson, Garand, M1 Carbine, Grease Gun, M16A1 and XM-177 clones, M14 clone, Beretta M16A2 and M4 slick clones, Modern M4 and A4 clones, Trench Guns, move into belt feed 1919. Russian Collection Nagant Revolver Mosin Mosin Carbine SKS AK-47 Ak-74 Russian Pistols (not familar with them off the top of my head) I'd really get twins for my go to guns. |
i have a FMP from portugal and i love it, tough to find though. the contract rifles from portugal or greece are equal to the HKs. i personally have never owned a PTR rifle but it's not much different then any other g3. the PTR is in your price range and function/workmanship is near or equal to HK/contract quality. if you are interested check out the HK forum in the armory section. |

BTW, an M4 = AR-15 (I know not technically, but close enough). Grab the M4. I had a WASR-10 for a while, and while it was fairly accurate and such, I just didn't enjoy shooting it that much. I ditched it and upgraded to an Arsenal milled receiver with the trimmings and like it MUCH better. I also have a 20" free float target model AR-15, a 14.5" M4 clone coming, and soon a 11.5" SBR (after NFA paperwork). And while I don't know if Ohio allows them, grab a .22LR and suppress that puppy! Local suppressors can be had for $200 + $200 NFA + $50 transfer. Plop them on a Mark II, BuckMark, CZ Kadet pistol, then switch it to a 10/22, 22/77, CZ452, etc. Anyway, back the point. Get the M4, and play with it. With the rail and modular nature you can accessorize out the wazoo. Then go get good and go participate in your local Practical Rifle Matches. Loads of fun. I like the configuration that you have, but I'd choose the EoTech as a personal preference. You can ditch the mount to save some cash as well. |
