I've always loved that weapon for some kooky reason. Never did pick one up before the AW ban.

Any chance we'll see them resurface after the sunset at a reasonable price?

Dude, the AWB sunset was 6 months ago.  No, they will not be back at a reasonable price because they were affectede by the 1989 import ban, not the 1994 AWB from what I know.

Plus you are in NY, so you are pretty much screwed, as no new assault weapons are allowed- premanent AWB in NY from what I have heard.

There have been rumors now and again taht DS Arms in barrington, IL might start producing them, but those rumors have been floating around for almost 2 years, and the project is "on hold" if not dead in the water.

Your best bet is to find a USR.  Even if they did start importing/ manufacturing AUG's, you couldn't have one in NY.

Thanks dawg, I know when the sunset was, perhaps I should have wrote "post sunset", I figured you'd get  the gist.

Anyhoo, FYI, NYC has a serious AWB, but the rest of NYS is still (relatively) good to go. Meaning, their ban was modeled after the '94 ban, and there are very few provisions for enforcement. It may get worse after this recent mall shooting in Orange county, but we'll see.

So the short answer is I'm out of luck unless someone starts making them here?

What about all these AK variants floating around out there? How are they circumventing the  import ban?

By adding enough American parts to make them legal.
