Does anyone have any experience with John Masen 30 rd Black Warrior mags for the Mini-14???

He's selling them on his website for $19.95, which is a great price vs. the factory Ruger 20rd mags.

john masen

Does Masen make a quality mag??? Will it fit a post ban Mini-14??? Do these mags make your mini into a jam-o-matic??? Should I just pony up for the factory mags???

Please no comment of selling the mini 14... or that the mini sucks. It has sentimental value. It was my first gun

Thanks guys

You hear all kinds of things about these mags.  I have no personal experience with them.

I'd buy PMI or Ruger.

They also make the notoriously unreliable duck-bill SKS mags.  It looks like this stuff is the same "quality" as USA/TripleK/etc...  I wouldn't touch it unless it was PMI.

I've purchased some John Masen 1911 parts in the past.

They were pretty crappy.

I can't see his Ruger mags deviating from the norm.

I have 2 John Masen 10 rd mags for my Mini 14 and they work fine.  Never had any jams or FTF with them.  I have been thinking about getting some of the 30 rd mags to try.

CDNN Has them on sale for $14.99.  I am going to place an order tonight for 2 of them and give them a try.

the 10 rnd Mason mags have a good track record, but if you want 20s or 30s, stick with PMI and ruger.

+1.

Don't mess around. Get factory mags or the hard to find PMI ones. Better yet, trade the POS in for an AR-15 like I did.

Can`t comment on PMI, but IMHO I would say look for Ruger Factory Mags. Since the AWB dropped they`ve gotten cheaper and a little more common. At least the 20rd mags did.

I bought 3 John Mason 30 round magazines about 3 or 4 years ago, they were all junk

I have one from a year or two ago and it works fine for me.
