I know the buffer tube prevents saving as much space as a true folder but how much does a collapsed tele-stock reduce overall l.o.p. on an AR15?

a couple inches.  enough to make it either comfortable or uncomfortable.

FWIW, I hate the things.
No compartment for cleaning gear, even flimsier than the regular stock, and they rattle.
Only saving grace is that they are adjustable for LOP as when you're wearing a ballistic vest or heavy winter clothing.
Frankly, I'd just slap a shorter A1 stock on your weapon if you need the room.  YMMV.

Thanks, guys. That's about what I figured. I haven't played with one but can't imagine it would be more comfortable and reliable than a solid stock.

my vltor is just as comfortable as a standard stock.  it has compartments for stuff/cleaning supplies on the sides too.

i just measured and my vltor collapses 3 inches.
