What is a .30-30 Ackley chamber? Is it kind of like a Bentz chamber on a .22?

When a case is "Ackley Improved", it means that the shoulder has been blown out slightly, and there's a bit more case capacity.

So an Ackley chamber would require .30-30 ammo with Ackley casings? Am I understanding that right? This gives you more powder behind the bullet for greater velocity?

Actually, you can fireform a regular case to an Ackley chamber. And yes, it does give you a little more powder behind the bullet.
