Are these videos good for general purpose knowledge on function, disassembly, reassembly, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting? I want to get one for my 1911 and for my AR. Anybody have any experience with the American Gunsmithing Institute Videos? $29.95 a pop for 2hrs. of video seem fair, too bad they aren't on DVD. |

I've purchased about 10 of them and found them to be pretty good. Almost all of them feature Bob Dunlap, who seems slightly eccentric but very knowledgeable. I have both the 1911 and AR15 videos and think they are worth it. BTW, if you want to amortize the cost a bit, you can get a gunsmithing course from Brownell's that includes 56 AGI videos.
