We travel a lot as a family and with what is going on I want to have some of my "toys" with me.  Driving a Cherokee does not leave me with a lot of options on where to place my gun cases so not as to attract unwanted attention. I bought a bow case and cut the arrow holders out and replaced it with foam secured with spray adhesive.  It even has internal pillars to protect against crush.  My Savage 10FP and Bushmaster M4 fit perfect.  If I happend to be pulled over I don't think a cop will give it a second look.  I stop about 1200 cars a year and this until now would not arouse my attention.

My friend needed a discreet way to carry his  M4 w. collapsible stock while at the lake back and forth to his boat on crowded weekends at the lake. He also wanted something that wouldn't stand out in his jeep like a gun case. I suggested a tennis racket case, but he couldn't find one long enough so he got a padded Wilson gear bag and sewed in some pockets for some extra mags.

i think you might want closed cell (am i right?)foam and it will keep your toys from rusting.  i'm not sure on this though.

I just bought one, and it's great!  I take it you bought the top layer of foam elsewhere?  It looks like a good match.  I think maybe I have enough lying around to make an insert for the top.

What brand is that case?  Would two AR-type rifles fit at the same time?  It looks great and the price seems nice.

A couple of times when I have been in music stores I have checked out the electric guitar cases.  They are constructed like AR-15 type cases and the price is usually less.

Have to check brand of case.  Got the foam from another old gun case and placed it with spray on adhesive.  Glad this works for you guys.  And yes I think two ARs would fit.

The case is a Plano "Protector Series Bow Case" PN 1111-99.

It 2 16" ARs fine, as long as you don't have optics on the bottom one (where mercop's Savage is).
