I am planning to get into a little 3 gun shooting and the shotgun I have decided on is the Beneli M1 super 90 tactical. I know this gun will turn it on if I can do my part but I also have another itch. I love to (wild) turkey hunt. Naturally a tactical model in it's current configuration is not legal so I was wanting to buy another barrel (28 inch) and somehow figure out how to shorten the extension tube to the legal limit. I'm trying to avoid buying two shotguns. Anybody got any suggestions??? Will this work???

are you required my law to have a 28" barrel to hunt turkey?  can you make a magazine plug out of a dowel rod and be legal?

No 28 inch isn't mandatory (I'm not sure if there is a min. limit) it's just that I have a hard enough time hitting one with a 28 inch barrel much less a 18.

Just get an 11-87.

You can get barrels for it all day long. 21" rifled for slugs, 28", 30", I think they even have a 32" for trap.

There are a plethora of chokes available by companies other than Remington specifically for turkey hunting.

You can get mag tube extensions, and then with the flick of a wrist be back to standard 5 shot capacity and add the supplied mag block you'll be at legal 3 shot capacity.
