You guys have a great board here,I really enjoy reading the discussions on this board. Now,on to the question. When I take the bolt out of my ar15 and take the firing pin out, does the bolt face have to be pushed out or in for the firing pin to be put back in?

The fireing pin will go in in either case, BUT the Cam Pin must be turned the right way or the hole won't line up.

Welcome to the Board, P51Mustang!!  Cool name, BTW.  My favorite aircraft of all time.

Oh, without the cam pin in place the gun will blow up.

Put the bolt and the bolt cam pin in the bolt carrier before you put the firing pin back in. Align the hole in the bolt cam pin with the firing pin hole in the bolt. Drop the firing pin in place and put the firing pin retaining pin in place. Welcome aboard.

Welcome to the boards.  Grandad was a riveter on P51s at North American after he rotated back to the states from Dakar, Africa.  That's only one reason why the Mustang is almost my favorite fighter of WW2.

My absolute favorite, especially from an aesthetic standpoint, is the Spitfire.  The profile of its wings reminds me of the lips of a beautiful woman.  Grace in motion.
