... between Remington 700 ADL or BDL action? Need to know before I start my M40A2- project.

I would also appreciate info where to get one for fair price, it looks like there is none in Finland at the moment.

Thanks,
MN

I don't believe there is a difference in the action.  The difference is in how nicely the rifle is finished.  Someone who knows for sure will be along shortly.

Ditto above...

The action is the same, Remington 700.  Finish, stock, sights, etc. are where they are different.

The BDL has a hinged magazine floorplate,so you can unload it out the bottom of the stock, the ADL does not have this feature, both rifles are the same except for this. :>)

Used to be the BDL got better wood in the stock, a cycolac plastic nose cap and grip cap, plus the previously mentioned hinged magazine floorplate. The ADL has an internal magazine with only one access to the ammo, and that being past the bolt.

Just one silly question: If you're in the land of Oy Sako Ab, why the hell would you want a Remington action?? Sako is so much nicer!! At least it was a few years back.

I would go with ADL for your project. ADL is cheaper and your going to ditch the alloy trigger guard and stock anyway(if your buying a compleate unit to rebuild). Brownells sells the steel replacement BDL guards. Much more durable than the original. Specially if your going to be dragging it around like its meant to be.

While pricing a job similar to what you want. I found it was less costly to get a striped down ADL in 308 than get just the 700 BDL action.

LOL! I knew somebody is going to ask this. Answer: grass is greener behind the fence. I also think that it is inappropriate to build M40A2 with Sako action. It has to be built on Remington 700 action...

I already own Sako Varmint .308 and it IS very nice and accurate rifle, BTW.

Why are you so keen to Sako Rifles? Is there something wrong with Remington or Winchester?
