I don't turn 21 for another 6 months or so. But I'm saving up now to purchase a pistol each week on my list of things to buy when my b-day arrives. The guys at the gun store let me handle some of the pistols to see if I like them for future purchases. Well, one of the guys told me to try the new Springfield XD. I liked it, light, semi-compact, good feel, but the trigger pull was sweet in my opinion. I haven't heard anyone on here talking about them yet, so I thought I would ask if anyone has or used one? Any pro's, con's, or comments? I figure I should stay away from the v-10 model. Should I wait for the 45acp version to come out? I'm thinking of getting the 9mm right now. Thanks for any info. Edited to add: Did anyone else notice the trigger pull in these? Yall likey or no likey? |
| I have the XD9 and love it! Love it so much I just made a deal to aquire an XD40 tactical in OD! You will love the way the XD shoots and if you have the XD9 buy some XD40 mags from Kiesler's (19.99) and you can load 15 9mm into them and have legal high cap's! Doesn't get much better than that. good luck, be safe |

Very long discussion about this very topic here: ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=34&t=2240 |

Yup, the HS2000's warranty is being honored by Springfield... Part of the deal for them to take over distribution. It is the same gun internally, a few slight cosmetic differences. Funny, nobody would give the Croatian Sensation the time of day. It was called a Glock wannabe, third world crap, the hipoint of Europe and God knows what else. Springfield puts its name on it and suddenly it is the greatest military/tactical handgun EVER invented... Well, you can't go wrong with one. They are phenominal firearms. |

I shot in a Springfield/PMC-sponsored match in October; everyone got to shoot all the XDs, including a ported .40. Though I'm more of a 1911 shooter, I was very impressed with the XDs in all three calibers (9mm, .40 S&W, .357 Sig). Yes, the trigger pull was a bit longer than a 1911, but it didn't seem to keep me from shooting accurately (for me). The ported .40 was sweet! Even shot the 9s at the night match with M3s and M6s. Lots of fun. From what I've heard, Springfield's got both compact models and a .45 ACP coming out in the near future. If I hadn't already ordered a Glock 19 at the time of the match, shooting the XDs would've sold me on a Springfield or HS 2000. |
| I own that one and a steyr m40, the steyr is a much better firearm. It fits in the hand with a natural point, if you point it as you would your pointing finger, it is right on target. The workmanship is perfect and I have put two thousand rounds thru it and not one mistake. The Springfield is a fine one to. It just malfunctions to often. I have two other Springfields and they work better than the new one you are talking about, maybe it is just in need of getting the bugs worked out a little more. These are just my observations. |
