I am ordering a Ruger Compact Rifle in .223. It has the stainless steel, 16.5" barrel. I will use it for a truck gun. Mainly shooting coyotes and jackrabbits. No big game, no long-range shots. Obviously, I want the scope to be silver to match the gun. Any suggestions?? |

You might want to check out Burris, their compact series would be a good choice. www.burrisoptics.com/ The nickel finish should matchup pretty close. |

The Weaver Grand Slam is a very nice scope, and the matte-silver finish looks great on a stainless rifle. There is a review at the bottom of this page: www.outdoorlife.com/outdoor/gear/article/0,13285,264274,00.html. The 3-10x40 runs about $250. For wabbits, a red dot would be fine. But I think you need some fairly serious magnification for coyotes. |

Hey guys, Thanks for all the suggestions. I ordered a Weaver 2-10x38 last night. Should be here Monday, same day as my rifle!!!! Got a real good deal at Natchez on this scope. If anyone is intersted, they are having a sale on Weaver scopes this week. I talked to a buddy of mine who carries a .243 with this same scope on his 4-wheeler everyday of the week. This thing gets bounced over some very rough country all the time. He loves his. This guy is HARD on equipment. So, here we go!! |
