A friend of mine was cleaning out his garage and found a Ram Line mag..."MAC 1530", clear plastic, 30 rd, from Golden, CO. Anyone ever hear of them?

It "might" be a Mini 14 magazine.  Try the magazine forum here or www.rugerforum.com

Ramline once marketed a clear plastic 30 round magazine that could be used in either the AR-15 or the Mini-14.  Back in the pre-assault weapon hype days I owned a few of these.

Due to it being plastic, they could not put in a  stronger spring.  So, the Ramline "Combo Mags" were a little lazy about feeding smoothly.

If you bumped them while full, they puked out 10-15 rounds, shooting them all over the place.  So much for getting excited during a quick reload.

The DID fit both the Mini-14 and M16/AR-15.

Poor working of bolt catch.

I gave away 8 of those for these reasons.  They were not as good as USA mags.  And we all know how good those are.

Trade it for one of those junky USGI 30 rounders. ;-)

Yes, they fit all three guns, though very tightly in the ARs.  They are best used as range mags for a Mini-14 until they break (it usually doesn't take very long).

They work better in my Mini-14 than my AR. But they aren't very durable.

I had some Ramline mags about 14 years ago.  I loaded them all up and put them in a weapons case with my Mini-14.  I picked up the case and set it down and rounds came out of all the mags.
They are junk !!!!
