| Ok here is a question for everyone.Do you think Manufactures are allways honest about Pre/Post status.Ive called a few times to check if a Rifle was a Pre or not. What Ive found is that they dont allways want to mess with determining status.Maybe its that they are busy, not wanting to deal with it,a new employee or maybe they are just worried about the Legalities.Ive run across two that are supposed to be PreBans(according to the many lists out there)but according to the Manufactures they are Posts.Just makes me wonder somtimes. |

Keep in mind that the manufacturing date of the lower does not determine pre-ban status, but when it was assembled into a complete weapon. If the manufacturer made and shipped a lower in 1993, but never assembled it into a complete rifle before it left the factory, then they cannot tell you it is pre-ban. That doesn't mean it isn't - but you'd have to get some other indication that it was in fact part of a complete weapon before the ban. Sorry if I'm just repeating stuff that you already know - but maybe someone else is reading it and it help cleared it up for them. |

DK-Prof You are correct about the Manf date. One AR I checked on had a Birth Date of ?/86 but wasnt shipped from the Factory untill ?/95.Thats what got me to thinking though.I know it somtimes takes awhile before things get shipped and things get misplaced all the time but almost 10 years? You would have thought that they would have been shipping Lowers or Assembling them into Rifles before the ban took affect. |
