I need some recommendations and links for the best FALsmiths to do a little custom work. Nothing elaborate, but I want it done RIGHT the first time. TIA.

raf, all three of the above are highly regarded on the FAL board. I have seen and fired a para built by Gunplumber. It is the nicest FAL I've ever handled. Do a search on the FAL board. They even have a photo section which might help you decide.

The Cav Arms shop is 4 doors up from Azec Arms. I had had a chance to check out alot of Dereks work. It is top notch work.

Top notch work.
I'll second gunplumber. He's done excellent work for me....
Gunplumber gets my vote as I have a Hk91 that he redid that looks BETTER than new, and a build on a pristine Stg58 kit that is just a pleasure to look at,fondle and shoot.
He is the man and will build my next couple of FAL builds. Worth every penny.

Gunplummer just shipped mine yesterday. He was having a hell of a time to get the G1 kit with Imbel receiver to work but he stuck with it and finally did it.
AZArms has my friends kit and it too is in transit. He has been happy with the work on his first two.
