How do you remove the front hand guards on a standard A2 AR15? I downloaded the bushy manual and I don’t see it there (probably cause it’s too simple to address). Thanks for the help, Signed an AR newby |

Ensure rifle is unloaded, and set safety. Place buttstock on solid, non slippery surface, muzzle up. Grasp tapered Delta ring (just aft of the handguards) and move it towards receiver. Using 3rd hand (or a buddy), slide the end of the handguard nearest the Delta ring away from the barrel. Reverse to assemble. There is a handguard tool for sale (look in EE or build it yourself forums) that makes it a one man job. Gets easier with practice, especially assembly, which is more difficult than dis-assembly, IMHO. Good luck! |

Stand the rifle on the floor, on its butt. With both hands, pull the delta ring at the rear of the handguards down. It's spring loaded and will move far enough down to let the handguards out. You may be able to free one hand to pull the handguards loose, if not, using a finger or two usually works. |
| Don't listen to them they are lieing and if you do what they just said you will ruin you rifle. It is impossible to remove the handguards. Gene Stoner did this so grunts would not try to take the rifle apart in combat. The only way to get them off is to destroy them with a slege hammer while they are still on the barrel. Then they will break and fall off. |
