AWESOME I LEARNED HOW TO MAKE A LINK!!! http://perfectunion.com/forums/showthread.php?s=567cdd0d15ebca91bbb111477bbfb73f&threadid=1632 |

They moved the thread... here's the new link... perfectunion.com/forums/showthread.php?s=47789eac40a0b5fcc42a1f5d10d55520&threadid=1632 edit to add: I remember hearing this rumor a few years back from a few of the dealers in my area... I figured it was just to help inflate the prices of the used rifles... but I wouldn't be surprised if PC Ruger did something like that, take a perfectly POS rifle and make it worse... |
| Amen to that, brother. The only USA mag I have is for my FEG hi-power, and it requires a good hard shove to get it in to the mag well. It's functional, but noticeably more difficult to insert than my promags. I don't think that Ruger was screwing with the magwell. |
|
Wouldn't that also prevent older 5 round Ruger mags from working in the mini-14? If they narrow the mag well neither hi-caps, nor any 5 rounders that fit in the old guns will work so now they will have to carry two styles of 5 round mags. I'll have to remember to get my mitts on a new Mini 14 when I'm at the funstore tomorrow and check. (doesn't everyone start out a long holiday weekend at the gun store? |
Anyway, I've never heard of this website before, but they are giving away a Ruger 77 in 35 Whelen-www.perfectunion.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1247 |

I first ran into this about a year ago. I stopped by a gun shop and the owner showed me this problem also. We even had Ruger hicaps and they didn't fit either! I posted something about it at the time and the only thing I got as far as a answer was, possibly a poorly made mag well. |
