| Do all of the Mossberg 590A1 shotguns have the bayo lug? Thanks! |
|
All 590s have the bayonet lug, synthetic stocks and heavier connection to the magazine. If there's no bayonet lug then it is a regular model 500 with an extended magazine. I think 'Persuader' is the term they use. I believe the A1 designation indicates a heavier barrel and a metal trigger guard. |

Can a regular Mossberg 590 have a bayonet lug? When I bought mine it was listed as a Mossberg 590, not an A1 but it definatly has a bayo lug on it (thing looks wicked with an M9 bayonet on it) I'll have to check when I get home for the heavier barrel and metal triggerguard. It could have been a case of they didn't know what they were selling. Edited to add: Never mind, I just read the msg above mine and it answered my question, doh! |
This is NOT true. I have a Mossberg 590 (Marine Model) and it does NOT have a bayo lug. It is 100% factory and says 590 on the receiver. I did have another 590 (blue finish) that also did NOT have a bayo lug. The Persuader model is a 500 model and says 500 on the receiver. www.mossberg.com/pcatalog/Law.htm www.mossberg.com/pcatalog/Specpurp.htm The links have pics and descriptions of various 500 and 590's Hope this helps. medcop |

Note that Mossberg model numbers are 50xxx for standard 500s and 590s, and 51xxx for the 590A1s. Only the 20" 590A1s have the bayo lug. AFAIK, there are no 20" 590A1s that *don't* have a bayo lug, though some police departments remove them, especially if installing an older Surefire forend, which required this. Surefire now makes a 590A1 version that is compatible with the bayo lug. -Troy |
