| Is the AR the best gun in the world to you? |
Sgtar15, do you need to learn how to read? I make it clear in my questions that on a personal level, what's your opinion on the AR as a rifle, NOT ON HOW WELL A AR COMPARES VS 50BMG FOR SHOOTING 2000YRDS. Fuck man, get a dictionary and look up the word context. ![]() Let me further explain myself so you can maybe learn something in your old age. When I say stuff like "I have shot many rifles and the AR is always overall best" that means that, out of the guns on which I have pulled the trigger, I like the AR best, weather it be for how smooth it shoots, how accurate it is, a whole number of things. |
Close but.....Did you guys forget the FAL's? To me the FAL variants give you 'customizability'(Thanks for that word Kevin), while not quick, the options are there. It gives very reasonable mags(6 bucks). .308 is a great round, and the gas system allows for wide ammo usage with reliability (hot/light no problem). The weapon is VERY reliable, and easy to clean and operate. Not to mention its history and track record. THIS is the weapon to have/use. www.ar15.com DOES win in the webpage category, but the FAL is THE consumate rifle, IMHO.

Its a difficult question, I like AR because it doesnt kick much and the availability of parts and its easy to build up from a receiver compared to other firearms (ever try to build up a firearm using a remington 700 action (no barrels attached))?? but then the 223 doesnt have much power, sure it may stop man at say about 100 yards or so but its completly marginal for deers, and it may carry a distance of maybe up to 600 yards perhaps accurately but it wont have stopping powers at that range... my 7mm magnum rifle have as much energy as a 223 at point blank at about 1000 yards but it kicks like a mule and ammo is expen$ive. |

Yes there are certian rifles for different jobs. But IMO there isn't a rifle that feels more comfortable, is more customizable (did I get that right), and overall just feels good in my hands than an AR15. And really, I like the 5.56 round. Does it have everything? No. But again, neither does the any other round. And really I don't think that was the question anyway. Overall, it doesn't get any better (for me), than the AR. |

I have had,and still have, lots of guns. Most of them have a specific purpose. My AR is my "fun gun",but still, if I could only have one center fire rifle it would be the AR. With an AK the accuracy just isn't there. I have even taken Maine whitetail deer with my .223. One shot and they stop,no kidding. |

In all truth, the AR weapon system is the chameleon of the firearms world... adaptable to most any situation, easily customizable, simple to repair and maintain. While the 5.56 may be a bit on the anemic side, it's the only shortcoming of the weapon system... I can live with that... Make mine AR... |
