Don't buy a gun you aren't going to carry. If the wide body is too wide for you to conceal or carry why buy it for a concealed weapon.

I've carried a Glock 21 and Beretta 92 on occaissions, but I certainly carry my Glock 36 more because it's easier to carry. I think a double stack 45 is tough to conceal without an outer jacket or at least a very heavy and loose sweater or something like that.

Look at Glock 30, it might be a good compromise. It's lighter than an all steel gun. Although as thick as a Glock 21 the shorter grip might make it easier to conceal.

A 7 shot 45 that you'll carry beats a 11 shot you won't. Unless you are in the military or law enforcement it should be unlikely that you'll need more than 3 or 4 shots. If you are firing that many times, odds are you are missing. Not that I would RATHER have a 13 shot with me...
