I have an older metal framedl gun that has some scratches and dings on it. I was gonna fill them but am not sure what i should prep the surface with before hand. I have some breakfree powder blast. Will that work?

Is it pitted or just surface dings? Depending on which or how bad, a good sandblasting may reduce them and refinishing mask them. The best surface prep is typically a blasting of 100-120 grit aluminum oxide.
