Is it possible to cerakote an Elcan and maintain the markings as in serial numbers, illumination marking, adjustment arrows?

Just carefully mark over the parts you don't want to cerekote over. Similar to how I did it on this scope:

It's possible, but tricky.

I've been working in a Cerakote mix that mimics Daniel Defense FDE, and similarly Elcan FDE.

The trick lies in very light spray over the markings, while still laying down the color. It's worth buying some cheap scopes to practice on. The markings will still have paint on them, but it will be faint. Almost like you subdued them. I think one could go back over them with a fine tool to scrape coating out.

Well if you are really board and have a steady hand you can coat all of the letters with liquid masking film, let it all dry then paint it. The masking can be carefully removed once the paint dries and you will have a perfect paint job. it def work, ived used it on models before but its requires a great deal of patience.

With that being said im not sure how it would hold up to being baked in an oven, you may need to removed before baking.
