I have a handgun that was parkerized many years ago. Is there anyway to remove parkerizing? I'd like to return it to the original blue steel if possible.

Any suggestions on who can remove the parkerizing?

Call up some gunsmiths. They usually have blasting equipment and the expertise.

I had a conversation with Rob at Alchemy about stripping a 1911 that was parked and bluing it. Sounds like the park etches the steel requiring a tremendous amount of work to get the finish right. I went the Armory Kote route.

What kind of gun?

If you don't mind a matte finish to your blue job,  just blasting it of with a fine grit like 100-120 will work great. If you want a glossy finish, it will need to be polished after the park removal. Should be an easy job for any competent re-finisher.
