What's the best way to remove rattle can paint, specifically from a Harris bipod and Larue mount? I was going to soak it in acetone and apply a wire brush, but I'm open to suggestions.

you dont need to really "soak" it in acetone it will melt it off fast. Acetone evaporates pretty fast, so try to keep it on a rag at all times.  I use two rags, one in a bucket to catch the acetone while wrapping the part in the other. a stripping pad works great too.  Use a hard plastic brush, not wire.

Carb cleaner just melts it right off as well... add a plastic scrubby brush and you're good to go

Any difference in removing paint from a Magpul stock? Or should paint thinner work ok?

I've used acetone on a Sopmod stock and an ergo grip so I wouldn't think you would have a problem.

works great- very fast (spray, let it sit 10-15 minutes, agitate with a brush and rinse). the only issue i had was it peeled off the rubber coating on my front sling swivel.
