Hi All,

Finally decided to go ahead and paint my carbine.  I've been reading quite a bit here and watching as many videos as possible.  I do have a few questions that I'm still unsure about if you don't mind.

1.  Color- I will be using green and grown with the majority being green.  Here in MD there is much greenery, so  I figure keep it simple.  If I want the result to be 75 or so percent green, is it better to start with a brown base, then the green?

2.  Temperature- Really want to do this after the holidays, but don't want to wait until next summer.  How important is the temperature/ humidity?  Here it is already cold and as you know, MD is a pretty damp place.

3.  Degreasing- Was going to hose it down with brakleen and let it dry before painting.... Is this adequate?   See #4

4.  Disassembly- Originally thought about painting everything together, but then thought I might have a better more appealing result if I remove the handguards, BUIS and Eotech and paint them separately.  Any issues with paint under the mounts?

Thanks for your help,

-Coop

YMMV....but my advice

dominant color you want is used last.

light coats

if you think you want to add more - stop and call it a day
