*i am not a professional and just do this for hobby

when i spray, everything looks good to me but after its baked, the texture is a little inconsistent. its feels a little dry and rough in some places and noticeably smoother in others. am i holding the airbrush too far away and thats why its making some spots rough and dry feeling?

from far it looks good and even up close it can be difficult to notice the difference in texture but you can feel it when handling the slide.

It's difficult to get a wet coat on a large part with an airbrush.
If you aren't using a mini spray gun, and your airbrush tip size is small, then you are dry spraying it and causing the inconsistencies.

You can try to burnish it with some steel wool, but you will [probably cause some shine to the surface.
