I do have a John Noveske rifle clone that is cerakoted foliage green because that's the closest to what he had and in that case, it is meant to be semi-permanent. ETA: I waited like 15 minutes after spray painting the optic and mag before putting them to use   Just for the record, I'm not going to judge anyone for using a matte clear final coat to protect what they've done. It's just my personal preference not to. YMMV |

Waiting on parts to complete a few builds which will then get painted, so came here to get inspired. Got some good ideas what I want to do next. But can't visit without adding to the fun. This is an old job that was done almost 20 years ago (yikes!). Then I sprayed splotchs of Green C.A.R.C., Brown C.A.R.C. , and Lusterless Navy Gray, making sure not to have patterned/consistent stripes. I may order some of the Rapco paint, I only have a few random rustoleum colors. I have an AR pistol just about ready to paint, I just need wrap up some small details and find the time to do it. I was planning on painting the entire gun, but PSA had a blem sale on stripped FDE Sabre uppers, so I ordered one of those to use for the gun instead of an AP uppper I had laying around. I liked the FDE anodizing way too much to paint it so I changed my plan a little bit and used Chat to help me come up with a paint scheme. The below pic is rough, but it gives the general idea. I’m going to use sponges for the majority of it and try to mimic a ATACS IX pattern. Stay tuned… Attached File |
