| I paint cars for a living so I have all the necessary tools but I was just wondering if I could just sand the metal instead of blasting it with Aluminum Oxide. Also if I have to blast it can I get by with using sand instead of Aluminum Oxide. Thanks for any info you all might have. |

Cerakote is very thin, so you will see sand scratches in the finish if you hand sand it. Getting down to finer grits and wet sanding won't give a proper profile for adhesion.
Not to mention the huge pain in the ass it would be to hit every nook and cranny of a firearm with sandpaper. Don't blast with sand. Anything. Ever. Silica poisoning will kill you. You can use Garnet, but AO is much better quality and it holds up longer. My honest advice is, a job done right is a job done once. Save some headache and forgo any shortcuts. |

Roger that and thanks for the info. |
