I have ordered some Cerakote and have most of the equipment to start my project but have a few questions.

First off, when you guys paint your receivers, frames, slides, etc. do you try to cover the entire part (inside and out)? How difficult is it to get the blast media and paint into the internal corners and crevices? Were you all able to get good blast and paint coverage inside receivers and handgun frames?

I plan on doing an AR upper and lower, a complete Glock, and a Beretta 92 frame. Are there any tips or insights you can give me that would minimize any mistakes I might make? I'm looking at these stripped handgun frames and wondering how I'm going to get paint into all the interior spaces.

TIA

ETA: I ordered the 16 oz bottle so I should have plenty of extra. My plan is to practice the process on a couple AR mags first.

I never mask anything unless it needs to be another color.  Completely dissassemble each part.  Blast with 100-120g Aluminum Oxide.  You don't need to blast so hard you remove the old coating.  Your just prepping the substrate to accept the Cerakote.  You have no problems getting into tight areas.  Of course you blast after an acetone soak for 20 minutes and drying by compressed air.  Once blasted you blow out all the media with compressed air then heat to degas.  Once out of the oven clean and dry, rack and coat.   When I started I had some tolerance issues when re-assembling.  I found I was putting it on too thick due to a poorly adjusted HVLP gun.   Fill your gun with some similar thickness paint and take your time adjusting it to get the right pressure and volume.
