I know a couple guys who have there own shop and I want to get a few guns coated for pretty much nothing. They said the standard coating will withstand up to 400 degrees.
1. I want to coat my AR receivers my question is, will a 400 degree rating be ok for the receivers? My range does not allow rapid fire :( ,but I still have no idea how hot they will get with a shot every few seconds. My main concern is the upper. 2. Same concern with the slide of my pistol. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!! |

Powder coating is very thick and when it goes through the ovens to heat the parts for curing, it hardens really well.
I would not consider powder coating a lower only because it will be hell in tight fit areas and pin holes. Look into norrell moly resin, gun kote or cerakote. May fit your needs better. |
