Bare Bones

Rough Cut of the pistol grip

finshed cut and sanded

receiver and barrels done

Almost there - 20" barrels and overall legnth of 28 inches (BATF and NYS is 26.5" limit)

Wood forend should be here in a day or so all the metal pairts are painted already
Going to do the wood, gloss candy apple red (translucent to see the wood grain) against the park gray color

I'm looking to put a sling stud on the "tear drop" of the grip.
Run a laynard through it of some sort to secure it to my hand

Looks sweet! I'm curious to see how that red will look over wood don't think I have ever seen that done. Are you going to use a tinted clear like a HOK Kandy? Can't wait to see the finished product!

Here is a test patch on the scrap wood from the stock

Did one patch of Minwax "crimson" looked like brick.

I love ths. Testors  translucent candy apple "blood" red so you can see the wood grain against the grey of the gun metal.

OP you got me looking into this project like a mad man!!! lol...

I know this is slightly different, but I really like you buttstock with leather lanyard or strap idea to keep the hand secured to the wepon while/if attempting to fire both Shells together...which I will deffinately attempt eventually...not one armed of course...least not right away...

question for you, I'm looking at possibly picking up a stoeger tactical side by side 12g, but I dont want to go hacking up the stock wood...atleast if I have an option. Of all the coach guns I've seen...the stock and grip set appears to be somewhat universal, or looks awfully similar from all different manufactureres....is this true? do you know of any companies that sell cheap wood stock sets for these?

thanks man, loving this project!!!

Thanks, It's almost done. Friday should have the forend wood and I'll assemble. Test fire then paint the woods

Not really sure if they are all the same... I have a Stoger Coach in 20 Gauge that I love
You can order stripped replacement stocks and keep the original as is.
Cut down the replacement as you see fit.
YMMV

alright awesome, that answers my question! I was kinda iffy about cutting the only stock that came with it... but if I can get cheap replacements I'll give it a go!
