Was recently given a scope that has been painted –– poorly. Its a nice scope and I'd like to strip it and refinish.
Wondering the best way to go about this. Concerned that if I put it in my blast cabinet, the media (alox) is fine enough that it will penetrate the seals and get inside the scope tube, magnification ring, etc. If I use acetone or some sort of stripper, I'm worried that it will eat the rubber seals. I could sand it, but there are enough nooks and crannies that this wouldn't work over 100% of the scope. Any ideas? |
