I've got an A2 stock that I got off the EE, it had some scratches and dents on it. I've sanded it with 220 grit and removed the scratches and dents and want to take it down a little smoother. May or may not paint it.

I was thinking of rubbing it out with some fine or extra fine steel wool. Anybody done anything similar?
I was also thinking of painting it with the FUSION paint for plastic. Has anybody tried it?

Just placed an order with brownells and the duracoat, aluma hyde, etc. will have to wait till next time.

I just sandblast mine, if you're going to paint it, I wouldn't go any smoother than 320 grit at the most.  The smoother you make it, the less well the paint is going to adhere.  And be sure to degrease thoroughly.

I have not used the Fusion paint, but have used regular Krylon with ok results, as long as the prep work is done well.

Steel wool works ok, if you want a smooth finish, I used it with a light oil.
