I own a remington model 710 and i aim to change the color of the synthetic stock from gray to flat black.

i have had ppl suggest spray painting and dying my stock but dont know what would produce the best effect for the money and time.


HELP/SUGGESTIONS?

Hi

If all you want is to change the color then I would say just get some krylon plastic paint and paint it.  It will be cheap and fast.   It might even hold up for a year or so, then you just repaint it.

For something more durable then I would suggest duracoat.  You'll probably want to sand blast the stock lightly, but don't have to, before painting the stock.  Duracoat seems to have better wear resistance and for all practical purposes is permanent.  It is a bit more expensive and requires a bit more prep.
