A disadvantage of spray paints is that they are not as durable or permanent as other specialty coatings.  However the advantage paints is that they are not as durable or permanent as other specialty coatings.  Not to mention that a well used fiream looks way cool bad ass.

Yep...Just tested out the shade of paint on my knife which is Krylon ultra flat in medium brown.  I was trying to find a color to match coyote in spray paint and couldn't be happier with it.

Decided to go over it with medium brown.  Real happy with the outcome.

I like the medium brown more than the tan.  Medium brown looks like a good coyote type color...looks great!

Are you using the Krylon Fusion paint or just the regular Krylon camo colors?  That sure beats buying a new gun with the colored frame.

first I went over it with the fusion kahki and then the regular med brown.

Their khaki color is a shade or three lighter than the tan USP frame, and the river rock color might as well be gloss white in comparison.  So they have the Khaki color in flat in the Fusion line? Interesting couldn't find it when I went to look for it today.

I had decided to try find the right color to paint floorplates, and other parts to match the factory tan colored frame.

For some reason I didn't see that on the label.  I found that the khaki is too light and the brown is way too dark compared to the factory tan USP.  I sprayed a couple floorplates with each color and then painted over them with the other color.  Up close they are noticeable speckled but from 10 to 15 feet they match the factory tan color.

I'll have to hunt for this medium brown color you speak of.  It should get me buy until someone starts making aluminum floorplates for them, then I'll get some duracoat mixed to match.

I just finished painting the stock and forearm on my stevens 67 12 guage in krylon OD green, turned out awesome. I have done a couple others like this too. For a little extra protection, shoot a coat or 2 of satin clear to it too. It gives it a layer or 2 to scratch before it gets down to the paint.
One more thing. I am not sure if this is a different formula from krylon, but when i shot this stock with the clear it turned almost grey. I was really bummed about but walked off and let it dry, when i came back about 30 minutes later it had no grey at all. Never had that happen before.
