| I have seen a few guns painted with the snake skin pattern and I have seen references to gutter guard, laundry bags, etc. but I am wondering how you attach it to get a perfect pattern. Is there a way to make something stick to the gun so it doesnt move around? I thought about using some type of spray adhesive and then wrapping a cut length of laundry bag. Any thoughts? |

Saw an episode where one of the painters on American Chopper did it. What he did was take small opening fishnet and stretch it across a fuel tank. pulled it passed the end and tide the remainder into a knot. then taped it under the tank. Basically, just stretch it across the item your painting after you apply your base coat (black, nat earth tone). Leave it on while you apply the other tones. The tackiness of the base paint should help to hold it into place. Maybe some paint specialists in here can give more detail, but from what I have seen and other posts I have read in the past, this is the easiest and gives best results. No way am I a pro. I havent tried this, but when they showed it on AC, it looked stupidly simple. Might try it on something else for a test run and see what you need to do to get it right. |
