i have a factory camo m500 that i want to refinish to a solid color. do i have to totally remove the factory camo to do it. it doesn't look like the dipped kind, just factory applied painted

You shoudl be able to top coat it without any problem as long as it isn't sealed with something like a polyurethane or lacquer.
