I've currently got a Pinnacle PVS-14, and am looking at getting a second PVS-14 for my wife to use when she's out and about with me, and to set up a binocular setup when she's not. My question is...if I were to buy a nice quality PVS-14, but not spend the extra cash on a pinnacle for the second one, how big of a difference am I going to be looking at if I use them as binos? I have concerns about the difference between the two being enough that it could be disorienting, but I admittedly may be overthinking this a bit!

Definitely a good idea to get two of the same units, as close as possible on specs if your going to bridge them.

A good idea if you're buying a PVS14 and a scope too.  My dealer matched mine with my D740 when I bought them at the same time.

It really shouldn't be that big of a deal. They won't be collimated anyhow, so that would likely be more disorienting than mismatched tubes.

Since you want bino's that split apart at times, I would still move you towards a MOD-3 build.

Maybe you should buy the non-pinnacle PVS-14 and then you can tell us the difference
