in the sales sheet pic, it shows two lead options... Surefire/Steiner and Steiner/Steiner. whats the street cost? Haven't heard street cost. I'd guess it will be around the 150-200 ish mark if I were a betting man but pure speculation. I believe the sales sheet refers to one button going to one lead and the other button going to the other lead. If you're not familiar with the A3, it has a visible override port that is designed to work with a Y cable that runs from the override port and the weaponlight. The point being that whenever you activate the weaponlight it will activate the green visible laser regardless of what setting the regular laser port is. For example from an LE perspective. You're in a gas mask making a stealth approach to contact under NVG and need to go white light. (Laser input is set on IR laser and IR illumination on the rotary switch) All you have to do is hit the white light button to activate your weaponlight and visible laser simultaneously via the visible override port. . You'd be amazed how much compliance a laser dot gets. |

Tnvc posted this with pricing. Still no info on the DBAL A3 though.
---- Happy to announce for the first time TAPS and TAPS Pro with pricing. We have been asked by so many to manufacturer a better solution to the current legacy "standard" pressure switches. This standard TAPS will have the same robust features and all mounting hardware of the PRO unit but with no programming characteristics. Pricing as follows. MAP TAPS $139.00 TAPS Pro $239.00 We will begin shipping units a week after Shot to get things all up the on the web site, etc ------- To add I think they way over priced themselves. A ton ($50) more on the base model than the Surefire sr-07-d-it switch. $90 And it really doesn't do anything that different other than keymod and m lok $240 for the pro is insane, $100 jump for a small IC that can't cost more than a few dollars. (I get paying for the tech not just the material cost but damn....$50 more would be acceptable. ) Like Reply (0 Likes) Take Action |

I am happy to answer any questions you may have about TAPS and TAPS PRO.
I will try to answer the existing questions in order. Q. Will there be a solution for the Vis Override? A. Yes, we are releasing and supporting the switches first. Q. Price A. It is not just a simple IC for the programmable version, there is quite a bit more involved as the PRO switch has the ability to assign the buttons to either lead, a battery requirement, environmental sealing, and two redundant circuits. It also goes through a testing process for each switch, we do not batch test them. hopefully that answers some of your questions, I will try and check back to answer more if you have any. Thanks |

On the non-Pro TAPS, is there a function to enable momentary/constant on? My main complaint with SureFire's SR07-D-IT is the inability for constant on.
This is the reason I'm still using the SR-07 switch for the Surefire light and sticking to activating the button on the ATPIAL body. |

Running two separate switches is cumbersome, especially since I prefer the switch to be at the 12:00. |

My understanding is that the non-pro will basically be just like the Surefire dual switch but directly mount to keymod/mlok.  ie double tap for laser constant and hold for white light constant.  I really hope I'm wrong on that however because 240 for the pro just to get double click constant for the white light is not appealing since I need/want multiple switches.  Of course I'm still waiting on them to show up on TNVCs or Unity's webpage so I can actually buy the damn things. That is not just what you are getting with the pro, you can assign which button does what (front or back) you have slave mode and users will be able to buy TAPS that will work on things other than lights and weapon lasers. Trust me its not just another switch. |

Trust me its not just another switch. Boom. Subtle confirmation. We have to spend $200+ on a switch just we can have a constant on function for white light. Give me a SR07-D-IT with the addition of the constant on button like the SR07 that is competitive to Surefire's pricing. |

| Negative ghost rider, you can assign for example, one button to activate your Laser in vis mode as well as your light in vis mode, and the other button to activate your IR laser and Illuminator plus IR light if you have one, something the SR07 switch will not do. Im sorry but the TAPS Pro is an advancement, one button for multiple devices in different modes. I own 3 surefire switches, and while nice they leave me wanting when in a critical moment i need both devices on or off with just the push of a button. |

| Yes, that is why the TAPS Pro costs more. TNVC/Unity spent 4 years and more money than I make in a year bringing this product to the consumer, it was a serious undertaking. We hope it helps folks kill bad guys, defend their castle and loved ones, and kill coyotes and hogs. |

Can these be bolted up to the 45° vent holes on any of the quad rails? You're probably not going to have enough room on most quad rails, especially if you're talking about putting it in the upper quadrants of the rail, or newer "slim" rails that feature narrower sides and shallower bottom rails than older quad-rail designs. That being said, I mounted it at the 5 o'clock position, activated by my support hand fingertips (right handed shooter, non-"C-clamp" style) of a Geissele HK416 SMR (slick, with no accessory rails installed) using the M-LOK/KeyMod attachments without much problem. Even with the elevated top rail of the HK416, it did not quite want to fit in the 11 o'clock position under the ATPIAL because of the way it hugs the top rail. A DBAL probably would have had a little more clearance for it. You could also apply Velcro to the back of the TAPS for a little bit more mounting flexibility without being at the mercy of cooling hole design and position, though I know that part of the appeal of the TAPS was supposed to be no longer having to attach remote switches with Velcro, but it is an option that would still avail you of the other features it offers, I never really "ditched" remote switches in the first place, not because I've never experienced some of the problems that folks have had with them, but I always felt they offered more of an advantage to me than a disadvantage in allowing me to better "fit the gun to me," rather than trying to fit myself to the gun. Which quad rail were you thinking of using? I haven't tried any non-standard mounting options with my DD RIS IIs, but I probably will at some point in time. ~Augee |

I run all tape switches in that 45 degree pocket, keeps them from being accidentally switched or snagged. I figured it was worth a shot to see if by some chance the hole pattern matches up! I am just looking at the Taps at this point because I would like to slave an OTAL with a M600V. Neither one of those has a constant on feature the way I have them rigged. Maybe I just need to swap the laser out to an I2. |

Video of taps https://m.youtube.com/watch?index=34&list=PLm5Moc1EmjtMVrmtXsYWAY2Mmasz1ShBK&v=OijlmzIgnLQ On iPhone and it's not letting me make it hot. So is the body on taps aluminum or is it a plastic? Sorry just saw this, and I answered you in our Industry Forum and on LightFighter. TAPS is molded from highly durable polymer, we saw no reason to weigh down ones shootin' stick even more with an aluminum block. ![]() TNVC TAPS - SHOT Show 2017 Day 1 |

This is cool but damn....even switches need batteries now?!
I used to think it would be the libs pissing themselves when the SHTF and they couldn't get their double mocha, Almond milk lattes and sit in Starbucks pretending to work or study. Now it's going to be us with the 19 things hanging off of us and our guns that all run on batteries..... Laughing out loud.......sorta...

Its also redundant though and would just revert back to a momentary if the battery were to get tits up. |

Aimpoints have been around for years running off 50K and 70K battery run times with the T and Comp series, but I STILL run BUIS for a reason and still train while using only them. Our TAPS (as LEO mentioned) will run as a standard pressure switch in the unlikely event the programming function/battery go down. We also have had lights and lasers running on batts for many years now as well. Nothing new with batteries on a gun, my guess the future is going to show even more electronics running power sources. When it's all said and done, and they all go down with some EM burst or something... Train with your BUIS's and never take them off. |

Any chance for a TAPS version with triple leads, or maybe modular leads that could be switched out? They have said they are going to do a "triple lead" for the A3 at some point. Saying it will probably be an add on cable. Im waiting to pull the trigger until the A3 version is done. |
